Work's Done, Have Fun!

Erica Hoyt

The future face of Nashville music.

by  Willie Stanton

“The thinker goes down thinking. The fighter goes down swinging. And if I go down, I’m goin’ down singing.”

Erica Hoyt’s aphorism builds on her expressive composition of natural talent and perseverance. She is an optimist looking forward to each day’s challenges to inspire her music. Erica’s first encounters with the stage began around age 4 when she started performing with her father’s country band. Singing the National Anthem for the Texas Lady Longhorns and opening for Patty Lovelace taught this daddy’s little country girl that music was her playground. Besides her father, obviously, her voice has been influenced by Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Martina Mcbride , Trisha Yearwood, Sarah Evans , Julie Roberts.

Today, Erica performs for us here in Music City, USA. One night, she got onstage at Lonnie’s Western Room in Nashville’s historic Printer’s Alley and sang a Gretchen Wilson song. Not only was she offered a job performing at Lonnie’s, Gretchen Wilson was there offering her complements on performing her song!

Hoyt was also featured in Fox’s network television show Nashville. Cameras followed her around while she was developing her skills in hopes of becoming a professional Country Music Artist.

The young Texas debutant is still creating her voice and people are starting to take notice. After her performance with Loretta Lynn, Erica’s autographed picture was placed in the legendary country music icon’s museum.

Erica has since recorded several songs, working with some of Nashville’s finest songwriter’s including Jamey Johnson, Ashley Gorley and Chris Tompkins. Inspiration comes at the oddest times and places.” I have been bitten by the bug and I want to pursue a professional career in music,” Hoyt says. Erica’s next inspiration is to pursue her career with management to record, write and perform but most of all, sing her music.
